Six Meters — 350 VUCC

The 350 sticker just arrived for Six Meter VUCC. Looking back it was just a year ago as we entered the Es season that I was at 294 confirmed grids and didn’t feel that reaching 300 was possible. FT8 changed that big time.

That 350 grid total includes New Zealand, Japan, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Canary Islands, and lots of Caribbean islands. All with 100 watts and most of the time with a stressed moxon. You can see my North American grids on a map at K5ND Grid Chase.

If you haven’t tried six meters yet, get WSJT-X set up and running, then turn your rig to six meters. Right now I’m using a 6 meter vertical. But try a dipole — read about my experience at this blog post. Or try the excellent stressed moxon or some other beam. It truly is the Magic Band.
