March 6 Meter Transequatorial Propagation

Over the years I’ve had a great time working transequatorial propagation (TEP) on 6 meters. That started in September 2014 with some CW QSOs from Argentina and JT65 into Uruguay, all with a dipole. Here’s my list to date followed by TEP QSOs in the past few weeks.

This time my TEP QSOs started on March 4, 2022, with Brazil coming in nicely on FT8. The next day it was Chile. Then on March 14, I picked up New Zealand and added a new grid to the logbook. I also heard FK8CP but just couldn’t work him.

On March 15, I added stations from Ecuador and Chile to the log. Then on March 18, I added two more stations from Chile, including CE4WJK on 50.110 MHz using SSB. That last one was a real hoot. I reached out to Gustavo via email and he sent me a recording of my response to him. Pretty dang cool.

I hope this keeps up. Get on the air and see what you can work. Plus, the Sporadic E season is just around the corner.
