Begali Graciella Adjustment — At Long Last

Way back in 2010 I lucked out and found a Begali Graciella key on eBay and won the auction. Here’s my original post.

Since that time I’ve been a reasonably happy camper, even though my CW skills don’t come close to the capabilities of this superb key. There was, however, one small challenge. The key is wired for reverse paddles.

That’s not such a big deal with a Winkeyer, just select “reverse paddles” in the set up.

However, when you’re moving all your gear from your ham shack to your car for VHF rover work and there using a Palm Key with magnetic mount, you need to swap the the settings in the car and once again when back in the shack.

Well this morning I got ambitious and bold, took apart the Begali, and swapped the paddle wires. Hoorah! Now both my keys are all set and no fiddling with the Winkeyer settings. Plus, I didn’t scratch the beautiful key — and, it works!
