CQ WPX RTTY 2015

I wasn’t sure if I’d be up to running this contest. I returned from Malaysia on Thursday and slept all day and most of the night. As has been the case in several contests of late, I elected to enter on a single band — a daytime band so that I could sleep at night. This time it looked like 10 meters would be lively and it was. I entered low power and with the MA6V vertical.

Managed to snag 215 QSOs and 171 prefixes for a total score of 82,080. It was a bit easier running low power rather than QRP. That allowed me to do some running during the contest.

I hope you were on the air and had some fun.

  1. Wow Jim, that’s an excellent score for a single band entry! Congrats! I do like the idea of entering a single band category. It easier on antenna’s, easier on rest and a higher change to be the winner of your category.
Hope you had a good trip to Malaysia and productive JOTA-meetings.

I’m down with the flu so no RTTY for me. I did manage to make a few Q’s in the PACC-contest (30).

    • Hi Jim,

Get well soon. Malaysia went great. Very productive meetings. Still getting my clock reset from the 17-hour time change and 27 hours of flights both ways. Glad to be home and having fun on RTTY.
